Resources to Help Your Loved Ones Thrive

At NES, we genuinely care about each individual and their family.  We’ve put together these resources to access trusted services, support and information.  The goal is to guide, empower, and connect families so their loved ones can thrive, gain independence and live fulfilling lives.

DSPD – Division of Services for People with Disabilites

The Division of Services for People with Disabilities provides information on eligibility, how to apply for services, and access to supports like respite care, behavioral services, home adaptations, and coordination to improve quality of life.

DCFS – Division of Child and Family Services

DCFS helps families of individuals with developmental disabilities by connecting them to resources for child health and mental health, special education information, and developmental screenings.  It can guide families through support services (including therapy, counseling, caregiver training), assist with navigating child welfare/foster care situations if needed, and help ensure that children get safe environments when their disability requires additional protection or accommodation.

Social Security Administration

The Social Security Admnistration helps families with individuals who have developmental disabilities by providing information on benefits like Supplemental Security Income SSI and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI).  It guides families on how to apply, understand eligibility, manage benefits, and access financial support that can help meet their loved one’s needs and improve daily living.

LifeCourseTools.com provides person-centered planning tools and resources based on the Charting the LifeCourse framework, helping individuals and families of all abilities envision a “good life,” set goals, and identify needed supports across different life stages and domains like health, work, relationships and community living.

Independent Support Coordinator Association

A nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities and their families.  They offer resources and advocacy to promote independence and inclusion in the community.  While specific services vary, Utah ISCA typically provides information on accessible housing, transportation, employment opportunities and legal rights, helping families navigate challenges and access necessary supports.  Their goal is to empower individuals with disabilities to lead self-determined lives and participate fully in society.
